Subject: Convert Conform to dynmaic cltohing - question?!

Hello, I want to convert a conform-swimsuit for V3 to a dynamic cloth. But the .obj-prop I created decayed in his groups if I try to simulate or drape it, why? What do I wrong. The tutorial from PhilC didn't help more in this thing. Do somebody have an idea what I made wrong? Best regards, roger

Did you import the OBJ with the weld option selected?
Also could you give a screen shot so that we can see the before and after.

Thanks,

Thank's for the fast reply. A screenshot is only possible from a other PC. But I try to send it soon as possible. I export the piece as .obj with weld-checked; the others unchecked. Then I reimport with standard checks in 100%. This object I save in poser as props, that's all. If I work with (for ex. the "kimono") nothing unforeseen happens. -Roger P.s.: The other of your tutorials help me more by the work with dynmaic props. Even the cheographed groups function right and proper

I would normally take the clothing mesh direct from the geometries folder, weld on import, and uncheck all the other boxes. That should work; we could try welding in UVMapper, and assigning everything to one group there, but I don't think that would work any better...

Hello again, I have tried with the Weld-cecked and it function well. Thank's a lot!! Now I have a other litterle problem - em: If I make out of an dynamic simulated cloth an morph target for my prop, the transform-information will be lost. Is there a possibility to make a morph which include this information, as it were an dynamic-parameter?? Maybe somebody know something about that problem? -roger

Sorry Roger, I don't understand. You make your clothing into a dynamic prop and simulate it. Then you turn that simulation into a morph. With you so far, I think. Please correct me if not. But I don't understand what you mean by transform-information. Can you explain it another way?

Hello again, sure I can explain to you: 0.)I want to create a simulation where the model rip of the clothes. That's possible with 'cheogrpahed groups'. -I work with a swimsuit with two constrained-groups around the hip and over the shoulders and one choerographed-group at the decoltee. 1.)In Frame 1 the model stand with the drapped swimsuit (o.e.) In Frame 5 (before the simulation) I bend the swimsuit about 20 to front and transform it z-axis about 0,1 cm. (This makes the choreogrpahed-group to change its position -like in the towl-tutorial at frontier, where you transform and twist the 'hard'-Plate around the model). 2.)Now I play the simulation and the swimsuit seems to be rip of on the front away from the breasts. 3.)If I now swap this swimsuit in Frame 5 to an morphtraget the computer don't save the bending and transform, only the morph. So if I use the created morph on the original swimsuit (by bending 0 and z-trans 0) it fall back behind the figure (exactly 19). But I want, that the swimsuit stand and only the front of its goes out! The problem is, for the simulation of an cheographed-group I must transform and bend the swimsuit manuelly. Is there an other way to get the correct simulation? -I hope you could follow me so far :) -roger-

I think so. You have a cloth room simulation and a transformation of the model that you want to combine into one morph? Checking "as morph target" when you export will cancel the transform information (I assume that's what you're doing). Try exporting without this option.
