As I said in the other thread, I don't mind the new window as much as I minded the fact that you cannot force the new window to open in full screen in IE. However, I did find a freeware program that fixes that. But I do agree with Shardz. Quite a few of the people are not going to change their browsers/mouse buttons to accomodate the change. They'll just go elsewhere. I don't buy the argument that the SQL server now runs better because of that change. If the pages are cacheable, it shouldn't take anymore processor/bandwidth to do the back versus the open window.
Someone mentioned how the popups get by their popup blockers. That is because most blockers only stop popups that result as a function of opening/closing a page. They don't filter ones that open as a result of a click, as these are considered voluntary. Though there are some that block them all.
