esther, I think part of the issue is your base texture looks like it may already have a reflection built in.I have seen some with fake reflections also. You may need to examine the underlying textures. Are the eyes just too glassy or what do they look like? I am sure not only do you need good textures, but there is probably tons of technique and theory behind doing eyes. Gotta be some tutorials around.

No need to think outside the box....
    Just make it invisible.
