Still playing around with my color functions for trees. I've created a set of fall tree color functions which don't require any tweaking, just load them in and your done. Once color function to simulate snow covered fir trees and I've also been playing around with this one just for kicks. It's a function which simulates a dying tree. One where the leaves are turing a pale green, then a little yellowish, and then finally all brown. First image is a standard Vue tree, the second is an Onyx Broadleaf tree. No postwork has been done on either tree.

Your thoughts are welcomed.

I think it looks better on the Onyx tree, somehow. Maybe because there are so many leaves on the Vue tree, which is odd for a dying tree.

Was just thinking the same thing. They look sick, but have to many leaves. Also, the fallen leaves would gather on the ground under the tree.

Still a worthwhile function IMO. I bet a whole distant sick forest would look good (make that 'bad'. Er, make that 'sick', er...)

With Onyx you can thin out the leaves to make it look better. I also didn't add any fallen leaves on the ground as this was just a test render. Good point though.

These would be useful functions to have. Will you be making them available for Vue 5i? _jc

You can thin out the leaves in Vue 5 too, provided you have the plant editor. Might be worth a try.

Oh yeah, duh!!!! This was just a test render. I'm sure I can make them look better but I was just trying out the color function.

Leaf removal works fine in the planteditor.
