If you look through the Poser tutorials here on R'osity, there are quite a few on postworking images you might find usefull. Maybe even look through the 2D tutorials for extra tips and tricks on working with whatever program you have. Also, it doesn't have to pertain to 3D specifically, but even if you just found a general art composition book, or one on photography at the local book store that might help as well. Just because your models are on a computer screen doesn't mean the same basic principles don't apply. Find something that talks about how a picture/painting was put together. Even a home decorating book might be usefull....something that can help you see how to utilize space and setup a scene. If you're having a hard time visualizing it on the computer, see if you can't do a mock up in the middle of the living room or something like that. I even practice poses in the mirror if I'm trying to do one up from scratch... =)
