I suppose it's the smell of humans that is supposed to deter them. We don't have deer here either,but I understand they can be quite a gardener's nightmare.My friend in Upstate New York simply gave up.I should tell her about this.Although human hair seems like a pretty funky groundcover,lol. ;^)
