The way to adjust specular highlights in Vue is to go to the "Materials browser" window and select your "Head" material (double click). This will bring up the materials window. Go the "Highlights" tab and then adjust the "Highlight Intensity" slider. I would move it down by half. Also, in general the "Highlight Size" should be between 10% to 20% for low-lit scenes like you have. Vue takes a bit of getting used to, but it is far superior to Poser in rendering, lighting and shadows. Once you get the hang of it, you'll never go back to Poser again except for creating characters.
