Subject: Bowling ball help please!!

I know this will sound pretty strange but im looking for a way to take this Chicken head and make it look like its been built into this clear bowling ball. I've tried numerous things and nothing seems to come out right. Any and all help is appreciated.

Well, is this something you had in mind? It's all in the layer blending modes really. And some subtle reflection maybe. Try for yourself!
