having you been actually experimenting with the damping, jimbo? I've not had time to resume my attempts to still the hair. However, LEAVING COLLISION aside for the moment, it is NOT hard to get it to stop moving when the head moves, and that's without touching the damping controls. The reason the hair in my animation above is constantly in motion is because SHE is always in motion, even when it looks like a stop. Just increment up the setting for "Position Force" and you'll get it to be quite steady. If you've been working with the damping controls, and are so inclined, please feed me anything you've learned.
