Poser uses two types of scale channel 'scale' and 'propagatingScale', there is usually nothing on the dial to indicate which type of channel is being used. When 'propagatingScale' is used the children will scale when the parent is scaled. This can cause some strange distortions in some situations.

The fix is to open the file in a text editor and Search and Replace the string "propagatingScale" with "scale".
