Well people are expected to be able to install windows vista on the new mac hardware, because a lot of PC's use the same chipset and EFI boot interface. SO because the macbook ships with OSX installed, you could just install windows as well and concievably dual boot the mac into either the mac OS or windows. And when you think about it, both companies make money off this. You will soon be able to run most windows apps natively in OSX without a windows install as well: http://darwine.opendarwin.org/ A fully functional version of OSX running on a non-apple box is far less likely, although people have made some progress in getting a version of OSX (albeit lacking a lot of functionality) onto standard generic PC hardware. Apple is taking steps to hinder this though, as because many consider OSX superior to windows, may dent apple's hardware sales with a lot of people wanting the power and stability of OSX without paying for apple's computers. http://www.osx86project.org/
