LP, I got a Nikon D70s, so I'm sure its not the camera (which leaves me as the culprit). I never thought of using the polarizer filter I have. I guess I had my mind set on it being used for reflections. As for the time of day, it definitely was noonish, so the light was the strongest. Thanks for the tips. I'll be ready for the next trip for sure!
