Thanks to everyone who voted in the tongue poll. :) Since the eyes are such an important part of a realistic render,we might as well have good looking lacrimals to go with them. Just like before, please look at the examples above and pick what you think are the best lacrimals. For those who might not know, the lacrimals are the glands that produce tears and are the small pinkish triangular areas in the innermost corner of each eye. Once two or three choices get enough votes, I'll repost this image with the names of the textures they came from applied. Thanks! SnowS

Fourth one down the right hand column. Odd, I was just testing different lacrimals just last night... I don't have any good ones, would be cool to find out which ones these are. They always tend to be too bright/reflective, or too dark. They have to be just right for a good render.

This is difficult... 3rd on the left would be good if the eyes were picking up specularity from the lighting. But as with hair, I prefer flat textures so I can fiddle with the specularity myself, so I'll go for 2nd on the left, and 4th on the right.

3 and 4. Where is the tongue poll? I'd like to see and vote on those too! I am very nitpicky with textures. Awhile back I did renders of all the M3 face texures I had to compare them against each other for quailty. Lashes are another one you could do for a poll. And eyes (mapped correctly). And ears. It's rare you get a transmap brow that works. Fingernails and toenails are also often overlooked. And don't get me started on the inner mouth, gums, and teeth... I've been working on my own inner mouth textures for uh I'm embarrassed to say how long. I'm so picky. ;) bB

Thanks for everyone who's voted so far. Glad you found the tongue poll Bast, I will check out the DAZ Steph tongue texture tomorrow (I don't have the other DAZ textures myself). I plan on doing these polls for transmapped brows and lashes, probably fingernails, and teeth, if not more items. There's another important part of a texture that I've never seen ANY merchant do to my satisfaction - we'll address that soon too. ;) In my opinion, inner mouth textures are usually far too light and not detailed in the right places. Unless the person is screaming with their head tilted back, you shouldn't have to worry too much about the inner mouth texture - just don't make it too light. I'll update this image with the names tomorrow. Thanks! SnowS

ITA about the inner mouth being too light. It's ironic to me that texture makers will add shading to the nostrils and eye white but then not apply that same idea to the mouth. That's what I'm been working on. Glow-in-the-dark mouth is just as bad as glowing nostrils, imho. I could do some renders of some the textures in my runtime, perhaps I could add male textures (since I have so many of them)? bB

Thanks again for voting. Here are the choices with the names revealed. For the next poll (which I'll post later today), the names will be included on the original image. So far, Katie is ahead, with the DAZ Ethnic textures 1 and 3 following. Personally, I picked 8 and 9, but it's great to hear many different opinions. :) Katie is by Morris and is in the store here, the others are obviously at DAZ. "Glow-in-the-dark mouth is just as bad as glowing nostrils, imho." LOL, very true. You'd have to shine a flashlight in your mouth to get an inner mouth as bright as some textures have. At the moment, I use StefyZ's Suelma's inner mouth texture and add a darker diffuse color to get the results I want. Maybe we'll find a new contender soon though. ;) Feel free to post any samples you want too, just make sure you use the exact same lighting and camera angle for every example to be fair. Oh, and here's the Stephanie Petite tongue you mentioned - pretty darn good, thanks. :) SnowS
