As a newbie, I just realized that Poser will reder Flash movies. I am considering building a website and including all images I rendered from Poser in the design - and now I want to include some Flash content. I would be interested in having some advice from those who have done this before. What has your expereince been? What suggestions would you offer? Tim

Poser's Flash export is really REALLY Lossy! Lousy too! It is only capable of like 4 colors when making Flash animations. You're much better off making AVI movies and using some sort of converter on the AVI to retain the 3D CGI and high color definition. I use SWiSHVideo to convert my AVI's to SWF these days.

Have you ever visited www.titoonic.dk? They are a Danish web-developer company. They don't use Poser for their SWFs, but I've made SWFs in Poser that equal that quality.

Hmm, I've some files at Istockphoto that you might check out, if only I could figure out how to put the url in here...I think it's clickable above, yes? I removed the url, it doesn't point to a valid page. You'll have to take my word for it. I can upload a couple of static outtakes of my animations, if you'd like...

Well gee Hanz, I don't mind if I'm wrong, but unless you can tell us how you did it, the point is moot. I've never gotten Poser's Render engine to create any flash animations with more than a few colors that look very cartoonish. If that's what you're going for that's fine, but you need to be able to back up your point before accusing me of being wrong. It's been a long time since I tried, but I haven't done any swf's in Poser that looked the way I wanted with video quality and true colors. Do you think you could post how it's done instead of trying to rub my nose in my inefficiency next time?

Just to show you what I'm talking about these two SWF's were made in Poser, the first was made as an AVI and converted to SWF with SWishVideo and the second less colorfull one was made using Poser 6's built in SWF output using the default settings. Sorry I keep forgetting there's a language barrier here when it comes to grammer. I've heard that people in your part of the world use absolute statements more often than we do. Here in the states, when you tell someone they're wrong with no clarifying statements to accompany the statement, it comes across to us as accusative and insulting. I need to go back and find that thread, it was really informative as to why we miscommunicate with our fellow man over seas so often.

Well, believe me, no insult was intended. In the future I must remember to use a few more lines of text when expressing an opinion. The phrase 'You're wrong' didn't mean anything other than 'I beg to differ'. It wasn't intended to bear any ill-meaning towards you, your opinion, your skills or anything other than express the fact that "I have another opinion". As it turns out, though, it seems we were talking about different things...I indeed meant using the flash-export-engine to make cartoony flicks and you seem to be talking about more "realistic" flash-renders. So, I could've spared both you and myself this ridiculous battle on words by simply not having replied to this thread in the first place. Go figure...

But then I wouldn't have gotten to put my tasty foot in my mouth and meet a new interesting person. I wouldn't have it that way at all! ;) I don't think we had any serious battle or even battlewounds. Just a momentary hiccup in understanding each other.
