It's probably your driver version. 66.72 is rather old. The most current driver AFAIK is 81.67. Tip: download RivaTuner. There's a decent chance you can fool your operating system into thinking your Geforce6800GT is actually a QuadroFX 4000. The Quadro drivers have MUCH better OpenGL support than the Geforce drivers. I've tweaked my 6800LE into a QuadroFX 4000, which got rid of any OpenGL issues I had, and increased OpenGL performance by a factor 10 or more. Using a system for both gaming and modeling is a bit of a catch-22. Games want DirectX, the more recent the better, and they want a consumer level graphics card. 3D modeling apps want OpenGL, and preferably a professional graphics board. Usually a gamer card sucks on OpenGL, usually a professional 3D graphics card sucks on DirectX.

The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter
