These days there is a MASSIVE amount of slash fanfiction on the internet, as well as slash art (some made in poser) It crosses over with yaoi fiction, anime based fiction of the same sort and I know nothing of that genres history. If you're feeling brave search for the "Foresmutters project" which has preserved some of the earliest known peices of slash fiction. Slash fiction generally pairs male characters from movies, tv shows or books together. There is also femslash of female characters and the much disparaged gen and het genres ith normal heterosexual sex or gasp non at all! There are also some original slash/yaoi fiction stories out there (and I'm talking book length things here). Depending on the original genre of the characters the fiction itself runs the range from disturbing hardcore bloodplay BDSM (common with vampires) to disgustingly sweet 'true love' romances and various fetishes are covered depending on the authors.
