To me, I would clean. Like files all messed up on hard drive. To many files you do not need. I have a habit of that. Registries....prob some left behind from uninstalls, conflicting. Norton Utilities is great for cleaning. Speedisk is my favorite for defraging harddrives. Also when computer is off. It is great to spray the fans with a can of air. Do not do this in the house. If you do, dust will fly all over like crazy. Learned from experience. I used to install windows every three months or so. Now I haven't reinstalled my windows XP for over a year and a half due to proper cleaning from both software and hardware. :-)
