I am having a similar problem with a scene I am working on with 3 poser figures imported. C5 gets very very unstable the minute I load it in. I have 2GB or real RAM and a huge amount of hard disk space available for the swap file, but it still gives that darn error. I spent two weeks modeling this scene and I really don't want to have to start over, but I may have to.
