Anybody, tried this because the description about using the grayscale images for a green channel and a red doesn't seem to work for me. I can't seem to get photo-paint 9 to do this. They don't give much information on this part in the tutorial. Other than photoshop what other programs can you assign channels to what image you want.Older PE and Fireworks 2004 are more limited w/ channel support so, they don't appear to work here either. Corel Photo-paint has good color support, 48-bit etc... so I am wondering how many programs can actually do this or maybe I am missing something.

No need to think outside the box....
    Just make it invisible.
