Voice modulation for gender is difficult. I can see how software would have trouble converting. Stereotypically Women speek more form the throat allowing them to speak longer along the same breath. Men sterotypically speak more fom the diaphram or gut and thus use shorter sentences between need for breaths Octaves are trickky too. One way to make any voice speak in naturally higher octave is to tilt your chin upwards and smile while talking To lower the octave naturally, just lower your chin to your chest and talk while frowning. Just something to try when you or anyone else finds the software they want. That way you might bet a better result with less modulation.
