If I remember right, Zero Mostel did the Broadway version. Haim Topol did the Bollywood version. They both sang the song, but Topol is the Tevye that I remember. I was in tears as I watched him put his daughter on the train, never to see her again. Now my own children are leaving the nest, and traveling to distant shores. Just yesterday, or the day before, they were babies; I'd cuddle them in my arms, and bounce them on my knees. Where oh where did the years go by? David P. Hoadley
