Yes and no. First of all, the english AOC is 16, which makes it a wee bit easier (stricktly speaking, that doesn't apply to student/teacher relationships, but most people tend to ... pretend that isn't a problem. Including me) and most stories takes place in 7th year where the characters are 17. (to make it even more muddled, the AOC is actually 17 in Scotland where Hogwarts is supposed to be, but again.. uhm... technicalities...) Many stories also takes place some time after Hogwarts, typically after the presumed war against Voldemort. And to keep this on the topic, I've read about kinks in those stories that I never knew existed...
