I use the old fashioned hierarchy (.phi) file approach (because I hate the set up room and find it hard to get good result with). A lot of us that were making figures before the set-up room still use that approach. You need Roy Riggs's PHI Builder, which a google search will find for you. It's free. You create a .phi file, tell Poser to convert the hierarchy file, then use the joint editor to fine tune the joint parameters.
