...even though it's been answered 10,000 times before, I just recently stumbled across this. Did Bondware suck that badly in the forum department? Me, I'm agnostic ab't it, since I rarely bother w/ the CG drama these days. OTOH, I was curious as to what motivated the change. Any URL's, ideas, etc as to the official explanation? /P

They're still saying it's all empowered by Bondware, Pengie ;-). Bondware 3.0 or something.

heh. I strongly suspect the motivation has something to do with the "renderosity" style brokering of php apps style site bondware started up last year... That and the catch phrase of "php" -- thought it was funny they said php was here since the old bondware was php, lol

in all the hubbub, nobody seems to recall that certain features didn't work (or had to be disabled) in the previous forum software. these changes have been painful to many, with which I sympathise, but in time y'all may come to prefer this, once williams adds the features you've requested. for example, in my case, booleans didn't work in the search field in the prior forum software, but now they do. the text body wasn't searched in the prior forum software, but now it is. yes, of course, colours are important to give one a sense of ease and control, and they're gonna add some buttons for that ASAP. as to the pentangles and thread bumping, it's only a matter of time.

ROTFL... Stop that - you're killing me! Good to see you're still breathing, PJ. :) (on the plus side, I didn't know I blew 3000+ posts in this joint - oy, vey...) /P

I'll NEVER prefer PHP based forums. Always hated em, always will.
