How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when
isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is
supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Hmmm, just wondering...when I go to copy and paste my reply here,(I always do that),I get this message about my browser security settings, and that I now need to use keyboard commands.
I don't like keyboard commands.
I want to use my right click.:crying:
Do any of you have this happening, too, and is there a way to change it back?
Please say yes.

I don't know if this is related, but I've noticed today that even when I hit the 'return' key, it doesn't seem to have any effect. The test just keep flowing. I have to put a < BR > to get a forced return.
On the upside, my right click to copy text works just fine. :tt2:

I noticed that return works and sometimes does'nt.
CTRL V seems the only way to paste. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I want my right click back too. Wonder if I mess with security settings what I can come up with..

Yes, the RETURN only works sometimes -- very strange. I am using < BR > for now until you tell me otherwise Doug. Good luck!

"The end of the line' works for me,as it surely is.
This is a rather touching photo...so it's difficult to come up with a clever or humorous quip for it.I'm thinking of something regarding baggage...
Like...baggage I no longer need...Hidden baggage...Old baggage....
I wonder if someone else will come up with something for this.
Thanks for playing along,Carlos.Your photo has a lovely poetic quality.Boa noite!

End of the Line - works for me too :)
Brilliant Carlos the shot illustrates the saying in a unique and novel way.
Superbly done ! As are all the entries in what is quite a challenging simon because it shows to me how much difference there is in all the little nuisances of the languages we use. English is not the same from one part to another let alone working from a different language. A person living in the North of England would certainly have different puns to someone living in the South so to do this worldwide is an achievement !

Very true,Richard.
It is much the same with humor.Something is usually lost in the translation...
I hadn't considered that when I began this Simon. So I am very happy that it had such fun and wonderful responses.
My thanks to all who participated! :^)

Thanks Marlene and Richard, for your kind comments.
This is not an esay Simon(e) but with a little help and encouragement from Marlene I decided to try it.
I did even know what a pun was. :blushing:
Now, I see I could 'get' some 'phrase' that could 'fit' in English :) ......... end of the line :):)
'Playing' in this Simon(e) theme helped me learning some thing more. I am happy for it.
Always learning till the 'end of the line' !!!
Obrigado amiga Marlene !

Hi folks!I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend and are enjoying this lovely Sunday. Well it's Simone time again. This is something I've always wanted to do...Visual Puns/Wordplay.What that means is,an image that somehow is a play on words...for instance,a shot of a clock in midair could be 'time flies'...or a bunch of grapes next to a wine bottle could be 'Grape Expectations'...the word 'Hi' written on a hog is 'Hi on the hog',etc... It was Richard,(Onslow) who gave me the idea for this with his wonderful and witty image,'Alexander the Grape',that I have linked to. For more inspiration you can also check out ...http://www.badpuns.com/ Any way, hope you have fun with this.I'm not going to tell y'all what my pun is.I think it would also be fun to guess what it is!It should be pretty easy.(Sorry it's not nearly as good a pic as I'd like but I wanted to get something up here before Sunday was over, lol.) Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with! ___________________________________________________________ "Why isn't 'phonetic' spelled like it sounds?"Marlene <")
