Quote - phpbb and vbulletin don't use this style of editor -- they use a custom implementation that essentially exists in order to allow for the functionality i as many browsers as possible.
Don't seem so at CG TAlk, but, anyway, where's the problem with that? Why Renderosity cannot do that? Why do they have to use browser sniffing?
Quote - I'm aware of the methodology. As for lame, I disagree. By doing so, they cover in excess of 90% of the effective population. That's wise use of available resources. Perhaps Opera would gain more ground by changing their implentation...
When they test in Netscape, which covers 0.5% of the market in March (even less than IE 7), I wouldn't say it's a wise use of resources. And remember, they want to sell this. Will their potential clients tell their clients that they have to switch browsers?
Quote - Like I said -- wait for it, lol. IE7 is going to pretty much require recoding almost every site. And doesn't Rosity just look so awesome in IE7? I mean, wow -- who knew it could be so totally wrecked.
Since the site doesn't work in Opera or IE 7, why not fix it now instead of waiting for the axe to fall?
