I get tired of having to change the damn thing every time I look into the forum. Any way to permanently keep the settings I want?

Sorry but the default is for the last reply sort since the majority of members wanted post bumping.  At this time there is no option for you to change the default of "reply sort" but I will ask the programmers about the possibilities of making this a setting to choose from, maybe on the My Options page.

Huh?  That doesn't make sense to me.

They changed the default to "sort by last post", which means that threads with new posts in them are bumped to the top of the thread list. Which also means that "non populars" with new posts in them are moved to the top too.

With "sort by post date", you have to go page by page and look for threads that have new posts in them.  The default of "sort by last post" is a good thing :)

I second that, "post by date" works better for me.

No. Any post that has a new reply gets bummed to the top. So many of the new threads get dropped. Unless they changed that in the last couple of hours.

But when they get replied to again, they go to the top of the list again... as it should be.

Just like if you find a thread from back in 2000 and make a post, that thread then goes to the top of the list because there is a new post in it. 

If it was "sort by date of post", you would have to look through dozens of pages, or have a bookmark to find that thread to read that new post.
Sort by Last Reply = Any thread that gets posted in gets move to the top of the list regardless of when the thread was created.

Sort by Post Date = Leaves the thread in it's original place regardless of whether there is a new post in it or not.

No wonder Eastern and Western Canada can't get along.

The longer a thread takes to get an answer, the farther down the list it goes. Soon, it will get to a point that no one reads that far down. I see it happening already.

You like the default that's fine. I like it the other way. Otherwise, what's the point of even having all the ebots. Popular threads stay on top so you really don't need the mail.

What ever, just give us the option to choose.

Before the change over you didn't see the old posts unless you used archive and searched through thousands of posts.   Even "new" threads that didn't get replied to fell into the abyss if they weren't resurrected.

I'm sorry, but I'm not understanding what the problem is here with the way the posts are sorted.   It's equivalent to the old forum's "read new posts".

However, even if I don't understand the problem, I will second the option of having a "choice" :)

Just make it so we only have to choose it one time instead of every time we come to the forums.
  Thats how it works on all major php boards.  Yes an option to choose which one would be nice but at lest make it so it sets only one time and will be set from then on.

The smilies are useless with having to copy and paste.  This went out around the turn of the century.  Lets get modern......:)

Just make it an option in "my options" as suggested by StaceyG so anybody can choose his default setting.

Exactly, I just want to see if there are new interesting posts in a forum and then move on. I don't have the time or energy to follow the old threads.

I asked for a way to keep by date so I don't have the same threads on top over and over again, every time there is a reply.  I'm a bit confussed as to why the argument, yet saying the samrething in different words. I only want to see the new threads and I don't give a ____ about the replied ones.

If the programers can give us that option, I'll do the Snoopy dance, If my knees will let me.

I noticed that you only have to hit enter once for a new paragraph instead of the usual twice.
