Actually, it was a fort at the beginning; Fort Vancouver. Now it's just plain Vancouver;WA, Not to be confused with the Canadian city with the same name. We're actually older than them. Our Vancouver was settled in the 1830's and is the oldest permanent settlement in the Pacific Northwest. Old being a relative term since some of our European, including the UK, forum members probably have bathroom plumbing older than my city,
