I think you also have to render either to disk or the screen to make the button available.  If Render in Main View is checked, the button for HyperVue greys out.

BTW, let me know how good this works for rendering a still - I'm getting a computer for my daughter (I'm tired of sharing!) plus I plan to set up a render farm with the new box...
