Puntomaus, try:
a:link {color: #XXXXXX;}
above where you have a:hover (actually, it probably makes no difference where you put it, but there keeps it tidy and easy to find ;-))
Obviously, change XXXXXX to your hex colour of choice.
The mid-blue bars across the top and bottom of the page are, I think, hard coded by Renderosity (it's their corporate image). I doubt those can be changed.
I used that dark blue forum entry background to start with but since about half the forum entries appear with black text it makes them very difficult to read. I chose a mid grey as a compromise - black and white text shows up OK, and it's not too blinding.
BTW, what browser are you using?
