Subject: Poser 6 and new computer Blues :(

pokeydots ( ) posted Thu, 20 April 2006 at 10:02 PM · edited Sun, 01 December 2024 at 5:26 AM

I just got a new HP Media Center PC,
It has 4200+ AMD Athlon 64x2Dual Core Processor
2.0GB memory 3
00GB Hard Drive
Integrated ATI RADEON Xpress 200 Graphics card
XP media editon installed
and it has the latest SP2 or whatever it was called from Microsoft

For some reason I can't use mat files to apply different textures to whatever I am working on.
The file paths are right, the pz2 look right, so I have no idea what is wrong sad.png Can anyone help?
I haven't been able to use poser since saturday! And I do have all the poser updates installed.

Thanks smile.png

Do they appear when you do a final Render? I have this happen with a few MAT Files. (You can check the Material Room to see if they were there.) I have not had the problem recently, so it might be a setting in my case.

No they don't appear on final render, and when I look in the material room the same mat the figure loaded with is there,  so it isn't applying it at all.

Well whatever happened it is working now, so I made a restore point in case it happens again!  And I am blaming poser gremlins, because I have no other explanation as to why it wouldn't work , and now it does! Like the ears ratscloset!

I have a very similar machine and I had a few buggy days with it, but within a week

I installed a graphics card, and it has been running smooth and fast.  good luck.

Struggling with a bout of pneumonia for weeks, but I think I'm finally winning.
So soon I'll get back to my "oeuvre" (might need the jaws of life to get my thong out of my cheek after that).
I've missed you too. Hope we can get together on IM one night and catch up.
how have you been?
