Answering your question..

Adobe Photoshop v.7.xx will never work under Windows XP 64Bit.. and it is 100% un-compatible.

The Adobe Photoshop CS is not stable under Windows XP 64Bit either.. And that is why they released the CS2 after a very short time from releasing the first CS version.. did you notice that!

Now here are some questions..

1- Where did you get your windows 64Bit Windows XP! means: Was it bundled with a pc you bought? or you Bought it online or from a store!

2- Either way bought it bundled or from a store or online.. Was it long time ago! or recently? The reason i asked.. So if you have chance to return it and get your self a regular XP either Home Edition or Pro.. The only difference between them is the (REGISTRY REMOTE & SOME NETWORK PROTOCOLS) other then that! They are exactly the same.!!

P.S. The reason i am telling you all this..

1- MicroSoft Know that their OS WIN-XP 64Bit has a lot of issues with the in-compatibility with 89% of the softwares. and that is why you cannot even find it in stores!! All the stores stopped selling them by the order of MicroSoft!!

2- Only AlienWare/Dell/HP/IBM brands are the only vertified & certified to sell and work with WIN_XP_64Bit

3- The Compatibility modes: 95/98/ME/WIN2K/32Bit is not stable in the WIN_XP_64Bit for now and that issue will be fixed with the new 64Bit release which was suppose to be this comming aug. but they delayed it for next year (WINDOWS VISTA)

4- This link: http://support.microsoft.com/windowsxpprox64 might help you to read more and solve some problems with your operating system.. and if you really want to keep it.. Then go for Adobe Photoshop CS2 it will work fine and faster then a regular 32Bit OS..

Am using MicroSoft Enterprise Server Edition 64Bit and it is fine with most of my applications.. Casue they are almost all new and supports the 64Bit OSs..
