I can understand why DAZ done it. I'm sure their future can not be only selling characters and props. There are more and more outside doing the same. So they have to find a second leg to stand on. And so their softwaredivision is growing.
But where they want to go? Bryce and Carrara, hm, could be combined. So that a Carrara standard is like Bryce on steroids and then there is a Carrara Pro with the additions of the Bryce specialties. I would kill Bryce. Sorry to say, but I think it is the only way. So Carrara need import for Bryceobjects, textures and so on. And a texturelab plugin to be able to work with the original Brycetextures too.
I would create a fusionprogram between Mimic and DAZ Studio. The free version of Studio without the mimicfunctions and a pro version with mimic included.
Only some ideas...
