Sunfirexed,
HEX2 is coming, so don't worry. The only slight worry is where it's future is, however, that would be true anyway. None of these programs ever is a guarantee. Amapi Designer was replaced. I think DAZ is trying to get some software tools. I think they are also trying to get the dev power to pull it off. If they do it will be fantastic for everyone so tho I am a bit anxious, I will choose to remain positive about it. This goal has been going on. If it hasn't been at the pace people would like...Gotta give them credit...they are a small company. I am VERY much a supporter of this over giant publically traded companies.
I do find the PC club push a turn off, like many, but some people like it. Everybody has to market...it's a fact of life. Geesh look at commercials. They are so far off the map most of the time, but people buy the junk.(When I look at the billions spent on junk food commercials with starving children everywhere, man I want to shake some sense into these thoroughly misguided people) Believe it or not, DAZ is polite and responsive as a company.
D|S has great OGL performance, I would like to see Carrara have this. But the catch22 is the API is not open technology and I have no idea what the license costs are. So I have mixed feelings there. We will have to see. Remember both of these companies started with people who worked for someone else and decided to go out on their own. Taking risks w/ less than great situations and acquiring languishing programs they thought had value. They are both privately held companies. I think I will go along for the ride and see where it goes!
No need to think outside the box....
Just make it
invisible.
