When it comes to Poser Runtime backups, I zip each of the main folders (Geometries, Textures, and the larger library folders - characters, poses). That reduces the number of files significantly. But (and read this carefully) I have on occassion run into bad zip archives on my CDs/DVDs. When that happens (although it is just as useless if files are bad in general), you are out. When a zip archive full of thousands of files is corrupt, you lose all of them.
C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the
foot. C++ makes it harder, but when you do, you blow your whole leg
off.
