It's (mostly) a Windows limititation.
The normal per process limit is 2GB (code and data), if a program is specially compiled and linked (with the appropriate flags) then the per process limit is 3GB.
Unless Poser is turned into a true 64 bit program (running a true 64 bit machine / OS), then this is as good as it gets.
