Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 24 11:54 pm)
Right you are. :)
Poser 6 is very user friendly, you know. It will do everything P4 can do, plus a lot more. You can learn the new bits at your own pace and get lots of good advice in the forum.
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
I have some free faces for Mike and Vicky on my homepage (link in my sig), those doesn't require any bought morph packages. But other than that.. I'd advise you to start saving and get them, they enhance the characters so much.
Raw Poser 4 or Pro Pack btw?

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
Quote - How much does it cost to upgrade? I've had P4 since... well since it was new LOL
Plus I'm using the freebie Vicky and Mike, do I need to pay ones to use to downloaded morphs? Cuz right now I really can't change much about the appearance and I like to have variety :P
Dunno about upgrading from P4 to P6. I upgraded from P5, which, IIRC was about $120.00
The free Mike and Victoria 3 models will take the morph packs, so it would only be the morphs you have to buy. As TG - ernyoka1 - said, there are some characters, such as her own, which do not need the morph packs. That said, the morphs are worth buying.

Anasta - a word of warning...
Whilst the upgrade to P6 is (IMHO) very well worth the price, note that both P5 & P6 are total resource hogs. You will need either: a nice, new PC with lots of memory, lots of speed and a good graphics card (with the latest updates) or: a lot of patience to get the most out of them.
And even then the rendering speed will be slower than in P4.
But the effects you can get... aaahhh... Wonderful. (Once you've got through the learning curve on the materials room, the FireFly (ray-tracing) renderer, the cloth room (with it's dynamic, flowing cloth), Image Based Lighting, Ambient Occlusion (and a lot of other terms I forget the meanings of).
Not to mention (in P6) POINT LIGHTS - (which are lights that emanate from a single point; you can now make candles, light-bulbs etc act properly without having to play around with spot-light tricks...)...
Cheers,
Diolma
PS - in no way am I trying to put you off. I sincerely recommend P6. But just warning that there are possibly some hidden costs before you can get the best out of it...
Ohh - and Welcome to the community!!!
