I've had better luck with SpywareBlaster than Adaware.
Spybot Search & Destroy is another excellent ap.

Run Spybot S&D first to get rid of the bad stuff, then run SpywareBlaster to harden your system so you don't get any more bad stuff.
Spybot could well get rid of Cool Web Search for you.
