I tested my .VOB Earth model by downloading it here and loading it into Vue 5 Infinite, and a user tested it good in some other Vue 5 versions. You didn't mention which model version or Vue version you are using.

The .3DS and .OBJ models are as exported by my Vue 5.09-02 build  280618. I have no way to test a .3DS file here. Since i can't really be sure of those models, i've removed them and left only the .VOB model.

The web site i got the Earth textures from was still operating last month, but seems to be down now, so i removed that link. A Google search for "earth textures" and "earth texture" should lead to the same or similar texture files elsewhere.

Of course, the .VOB model is already textured, so you only need textures if you want to modify it.
