I'm not the creator of this model, but I would never convert and distribute anyone else's work without permission. To be honest, since the model is in MAX format and I don't have MAX, I didn't expect to be able to even look at the geometry. I simply wanted someone who does have MAX to look at it and tell me if they thought it was worth any further investigation. Now having seen the geometry, I think if I could get the author to give me a version without the clothes or hair (hence, making it more generic and avoiding any copywrite issues) it just might be worth it.
