Subject: Have Poser ? Get Carrara 5 + $25 for $99...

Just wanted to let people know if they weren't already aware that DAZ has just started offering a "new" bundle deal where if you own Poser 4/5/6 then you can get Carrara 5 + Transposer 2 + $25 in-store credit. The $99 dollar deal assumes you're a Platinum Club member. :) Those who have purchased C5 from DAZ should check their accounts to ensure they been upgraded to include Transposer 2 (non-pro only) and your voucher. Previous purchasers will also need to contact DAZ directly for the Transposer 2 plugin serial. Refunds can be processed to instead take advantage of this new deal if you'd like to assuming you've purchasing C5 in the last 30 days. No reason to feel cheated. ;) I just love how it's decreased my render times over Poser itself! :)

I'm very curious now,  as the prospect of getting a one month platinum club membership and picking up Carrara + Transposer2 + Hexagon for about $100 is too good to pass up.

So is Carrara a better renderer than firefly?  Is it same quality but faster?  Is it same quality, same render time but easier to work with/more user friendly? Either one would make me jump on the deal in a second, so honest feedback would be most appreciated!

The render speed and quality IMHO are better in Carrara. If you happen to have a multi-core / processor machine Carrara will take advantage of that where Poser can't. A trial version is available the Support/Downloads section of their site.

I bought the membership this month as well and have already spent quite the sum at DAZ. I just nabbed this deal as well and actually got it for around $95 because I guess I had a voucher in my bag that I didn't know about or something link that!

I'm interested in this deal as well, been thinking  about Carrara awhile now. I NEED to hear more on faster render times AND the ability to have bigger scenes in it. I have a good X2 4800+ rig with 2 gigs high end DDR and even with that I can rarely get more than 2 figures in a scene with low render settings to work and if Carrara can help I am there.

Alos I read that the C-Pro version has even faster render times, anyone have any info on that?

Best, Michael

Quote - I guess I had a voucher in my bag that I didn't know about or something like that!

That would be the monthly $5 voucher that every PC member gets. It can applied 100% to everything in the "DAZ Original" item category and 50% to "Published Items". However, all vouchers can't be used on reseller and $1.99 PC items unlike gift certificates.

Hmmm...
I might be tempted, but...

I already have P5, P6, Hexagon (&Wings & Blender) & Vue5I & an old version of Bryce. Plus plenty of time. And a VERY limited budget.

What would Carrara give me that's worth the extra money? Apart from an overdraft and the Kudos of owning it, that is..

Cheers,
Diolma

Where can we read about this deal?  I was just at Daz and saw nothing about the voucher?
