Hey, I'm fairly new to Poser and have never engaged in one of these threads, so I thought I'd throw my two cents worth in, as well....
As an openly and happily gay man with an art degree, I say, "Boobs galore? Yay!"
What pleases me about this community is not the boobs, or the weenies or whatever; it's that it's engaging people's artistic inclinations. Sure, the postings that look like somebody bought a plastic Barbie doll and contorted it into a mildly suggestive pose may not be my idea of "art," but if it is somebody's artistic expression, more power to it. My preference is more aligned to Tiari's -- I prefer the imperfections of humanity in art. But others probably view art as the chance to depict what they wish humanity were, or what they feel humanity can aspire to. The galleries are mostly filled with bodacious babes who probably will never be hung in a museum a century from now, but that's fine. What's important to me is that people have the chance to express their artistic vision.
Poser, Bryce, Carrara, Terragen and more offer folks the tools to create images that look good. Many of these folks don't have the artistic skill (or perhaps even the physical capability) to wield a pencil, brush, or chisel, but still have a vision that they want to convey. If these tools can allow people to get their vision out, it's only for the best.
So, I say, if boobies are your thing, go for it. And if they're not, don't. But whatever you're interested in expressing, just express it. The man who created Ray Dream (which is the precursor to Carrara) said that he wanted to bring the ability to create high-quality 3D images to the masses. That he succeeded is remarkable. What's more remarkable is how well the masses have responded to having that ability.
