To call G2 Unimesh is like calling champagne a carbonated drink.

The G2 figures will share morphs, clothing, etc... not just the mesh.

The hope is always that the next figure will be an improvement over the last, but even if the name is the same, it does not mean you have to stop using the old figure.  If these figures had new names, much of the concern about updates would not be mentioned. The figures are named thus, because they are based in part on the older figure. Similar to the idea that David and SP3 are based off of the older unimesh figures.

e-frontier is working with the content creators to offer special incentives for owners of existing products. At this time I do not have a list of those creators, but some of the stuff will just be updated, the body shapes won't change enough to cause a remodel on most things so it's a matter of replacing the rig on the clothing. A few have said they will just replace the items for free and another said for a limited time he would replace for free. Since these products will work on more than one figure some might offer discounts for past customers. The details, of course, are up to the artists; however, e-frontier will do what we can to support them and our customers.
