If the object/figure you're parenting to has been scaled, then the (child) object that you attach to the parent will be distorted similarlarly. This can be a good or bad thing, depending on the circumstances. But I don't know any way of getting round it. There's a tick-box for "Inherit bends of parent", but not one for "inherit scaling" of parent....(the latter would be VERY useful under some circumstances...)

But I don't know how to do it.

Just wanted to point that out, 'cos it has caused me much grief in the past. Probably not relevant in the case above, but worth remembering...
