Quote - Unfortunately anything uploaded between the date of June 1st through June 12th won't have the views counted that happened during that time. There was no other way around this except for bringing the entire galleries down for 12 days.
Now I know why my latest image Don't Ask Alice had only 59 views in the last 10 days since June 5, when I average at least several hundred views for an image 10 days old. The view count is not accurate!
I am very disappointed with this. On June 9 I posted a question to Karen1573 in this thread asking if the image view counts would continue to be tallied during the conversion. On June 10 Karen1573 responded that she believed that would be the case. I then posted a request that she verify this with the programmers, and she posted a request to the programmers. On June 11 Karen1573 responded in the thread the following"
Quote - Here is the reply:
Yes they will. The counts will all be correct and comment counts...Its almost like its "hidden" but still will tally anything that occurs since they "hide" it.
Now I'm finding out, based on StacyG's post in this thread, that is not the case. The views have not been tallied and retained for any image uploaded to the galleries between June 1 and June 12. I'm find in unconscionable that this was not announced or made clear. Many of us use the view counts to determine the success of an image or technique we used. Had we known the view counts were not tallied during that period members could have chosen to upload or wait until the conversion was completed.
I am also extemely disappointed that programmers gave Karen1573 misinformation. She does an outstanding job, but not having factual information from programmers makes her job that much harder and erodes our confidence in the information we receive!
It's all fun and games...
