Well, it would appear I'm not the only one who has noticed this.  I can't pin it down...perhaps a sudden page refresh with the mouseovers?  I'm inclined to agree with others that the pop-up creates distraction, and the info can be garnered from the image page anyway.  Nice feature, but  unnecessary, I think.
