LOL, well I wouldn't go so far as to say I was "Spammed". But I have received about 6 or 7 such PM's from total strangers.    But what do you say when someone sends you a message saying "will you be my friend?"   and when you casually ask how they know you, they reply that they saw your  name in the "who's online" list.  hehe

I do take the time to reply and that results in a few back and forth exchanges of PM's.  However, sometimes I'm not feeling social, or I'm in a hurry, or not feeling well.  And when I get a PM I feel obligated to respond, no matter who it's from. I haven't been harassed or hassled though. So that's a plus :)   I guess it's just someone who is lonely looking for someone to talk with  sometimes.
