Thank you! I'll try the Fresh Viewer and IrfanView again and see which one I like the most. Icons seem like such a little thing, but when amassed together they become very important, LOL
I remember trying the Fireworks demo program a few years ago. That program is like a parasite. It took over association of all of my graphic files and changed the icon to it's own icon. I couldn't tell one image type from another because the icon was all the same for all image files and there was no way to change them. Plus there was no option in the program allowing you to change the file associations. After I uninstalled the program, my images had no file association at all, and while I could reassociate them to other programs, I couldn't change the icons back to default Window's ones. I started with default Windows icons, ended up with all Fireworks icons, and then all IE icons.
After posting on their forums I found that it is a bug (or was, not sure if they fixed it or not), but there was a program you had to run after uninstalling Fireworks in order to be able to return file associations back to Windows default.
I get so used to icons being one way, I wish programs wouldn't automatically change the look of the icon when they are associated with the file.
