I can only echo what practically everybody is saying about the cropping of the images once you have clicked on a thumpnail. Please revert to the old mode.
Reasons: The cropping destroys the visual impact of the very first view. Until last week all you saw was a little thumpnail that gave you an idea of the actiual image and made you curious. One click and you had the image in its entire glory on your big screen - we all tend to buy big screens because we love to have our images large, right? Now you get an inferior preview of the entire image and the initial chance to give a good impression is squandered.
I also prefer to scroll up and down between the large image in all it's glory and the comments. I prefer the image to cover my entire screen and to read comments by using my mousewheel. Now I can't do that any more. I get an inferior shadow of the real thing and below comments with distracting avatars. If I want to look at the real picture in it's intended size I have to click and scroll between different view windows.
That's a huge step back in terms of user friendliness and the joy of browsing galleries.
I also don't like the bombardment with unwanted info junk once I move my cursor ocross thumpnails. It's simply the opposite of relaxation.
I also hope that once you have fixed everything Renderosity will bother to implement my time-tested color-setting. I spend one or two hours with CSS to rectify the color changes in the gallery. However, Renderosity doesn't apply any color settings of mine to my new home page. My new home page also doesn't contain any of my inages, no gallery images and no text of mine. My old home page still has allt this, apart from the fact that it doesn't contain any images any more!
Summing up: I have no community home page any more, I have horrible color settings I can't even change, gallery use is annoying through cropped views - oh yes, and browsing is impssible for all practical purposes because the site takes forever to display anything.
I hope the speed issues will be resolved soon, but what about the rest?
How will this be rectified? Do I have to rebuild my community homepage as a result of these "improvements"?
Thanks,
Lookoo
