Hello carlosnr1...
Answering your question regarding the "NKON 50mm f/1.4D AF LENS".. In fact you are right and made the right choice about the lens and the low light shots.
Now i am going to ask you back three questions if you don't mind ofcourse..
1- Why did you choose the Nikon D 50mm lens? Means how far your shots will be!
2- How much you are welling to spend on that lens which will help you do the job?
3- Can you go with alternative well known brands and qualified?
The reason i asked those questions so you can take a look at the attached links and tell me what do you think tho..
Nikon 85MM f/1.8D Lens http://www.ritzcamera.com/product/541536314.htm
Nikon 180MM f/2.8 ED IF AF Lens http://www.ritzcamera.com/product/541535928.htm
Tamron 28-200MM AF Super II http://www.ritzcamera.com/product/255111072.htm (This lens has a SUPER MACRO DISTANCE (0.49CM) and a super zoom as well tho, and you might need something like that..
All of the above mentioned lens for NIKON including the D 50MM f/1.4D lens, should be good with low light/no flash. But again i have to say.. a TRIPOD is needed and your settings on the camera it self.
I am a CANON man but I am going for the new NIKON Nikon D2X Professional Digital SLR Camera with Nkon 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S VR IF-ED Nikkor Lens and Nkon 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED VR Nikkor Lens as a start..
LOL... I will give it a try.. I always hated the Nikon for some reason. But i will give it a try.
Best regards and hope to see your clubs photos soon.. I wish if i can post mine but by my policies and rules i can't :(
Have a lovely one
